Welcome to the Cornell Commodity Promotion Research Program's main directory. The mission of CCPRP is to conduct and sponsor research to improve the overall understanding of the economic impacts of commodity promotion programs. Approximately $1 billion is spent annually on domestic commodity promotion programs and export promotion programs in the United States. Because of the large amount of money invested in generic promotion, the research conducted by the CCPRP provides crucial information to policy makers, who decide whether or not to continue authorization for domestic commodity checkoff programs and whether or not to fund export promotion programs. Members of the CCPRP work with administrators and researchers in government, other universities, and commodity promotion programs in conducting various research projects. CCPRP is housed in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

The Cornell Commodity Promotion Research is closely tied to the National Institute for Commodity Promotion Research and Evaluation (NICPRE) and the Research Committee on Commodity Promotion (NEC-63). More information on both of these groups, the staff of CCPRP, and how to contact the group can be found in this site.
